Where to stay in Chengdu? Pick Four Points by Sheraton Chengdu at Chunxi Road

With so many different international and local hotel chains, choosing a hotel in Chengdu can be overwhelming. While looking around, I finally decided on Four Points by Sheraton at Chunxi Road. This property has been recently revamped and my recent stay at this hotel revealed multiple aspects that contributed to a remarkable experience. In this review, I'll share my thoughts on the ambiance, amenities, service, and value, all of which demonstrate why this hotel should be your first pick when considering accommodations in Chengdu.

Location and Accessibility

Situated in the heart of Chengdu, the Four Points by Sheraton offers an enviable location just a short distance from must-see attractions like Tianfu Square and the historic Jinli Street, both of which are about a 15-minute walk away. This central location allowed me to easily immerse myself in the vibrant culture and rich history of Chengdu, without the hassle of long commutes.

With transportation options nearby, including the Chengdu Metro, I could explore various parts of the city quickly. Being able to access these key sites made my stay much more enjoyable and convenient.

A Warm Welcome

As soon as I entered the hotel, I felt embraced by the friendly atmosphere. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles, and the check-in process was both quick and effortless. This immediate warmth helped me relax after a long journey.

The lobby itself is expansive, offering you spaces to chill if you wish to hang out with your visitors, or to wait for your didi car to your next destination. The lobby is a blend of modern aesthetics with traditional Chinese touches, creating an inviting ambiance that perfectly set the tone for my luxurious experience at Four Points by Sheraton.

Spacious and Stylish Accommodations

Let’s talk about the rooms. I was fortunate enough to stay in a great sized room, with a wonderful view of the cityscape, which far exceeded my expectations. The large expansive windows were a treat! It also featured motorised day and night blinds and the controls were located right by your bedside!

While Four Points by Sheraton is the lower tier of the hotels within the Marriott chain, it certainly didn't look the case. In fact, I would say that it surpasses some of the premium hotels I've been to in other locations.

The room featured a spacious layout, allowing for ample room to unwind. With warm colours and stylish furnishings, the décor invited relaxation. The king-sized bed was a standout feature, ensuring a restful night's sleep. Every morning, I woke refreshed, ready to face the day. Additionally, the room was equipped with modern amenities, including a flat-screen television, and a high-speed Wi-Fi, making my stay even more enjoyable.

The toilet too, was clean and had everything you need - from toothbrushes to body lotion! What I particularly like is how clean the standing shower with rain shower is!

Great Amenities

Four Points by Sheraton being the lower tier of the international chain, doesn't have that amazing amenities but it does boasts a well-equipped fitness center, which allowed me to maintain my workout routine during my stay.

Well, perhaps it doesn't even need that many amenities as you can find restaurants and eateries, and everything else you need at Chunxi Road, right in the heart of Chengdu! Similar to when I stayed in Moxy Chongqing, everything was just right at the corner.

Unmatched Hospitality

The exceptional service at Four Points by Sheraton truly sets it apart. Every staff member I encountered was attentive and accommodating, ensuring my needs were met promptly. For instance, if I requested room service or extra towels, the staff responded quickly and efficiently.

What's amazing too is China hotel's service of receiving your Mei Tuan or Tao Bao deliveries! They had a robot which can deliver your Mei Tuan items directly to your room. We tried this service and I don't know how it works but the robot magically appears at your door, with a phone call directly to your room to tell you to open the door. Amazing!

This level of genuine care and attention made my stay genuinely comfortable, creating a luxurious atmosphere that I greatly valued. It's rare to find such dedicated service in a hotel, and it reflects the team's dedication to guest satisfaction.

Exploring Chengdu

Staying at Four Points by Sheraton enabled me to easily discover Chengdu's distinctive charm. Convenient transportation services offered by the hotel made city exploration seamless.

A standout experience was my visit to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. This facility houses over 100 giant pandas and provides an educational opportunity to learn about the efforts to conserve this beloved species. Witnessing these adorable animals up close was not only emotional but deeply fulfilling. After such a thrilling day, returning to the comfort of my luxurious suite felt like the perfect conclusion.

Captivating City Views

One of my favourite aspects of staying at Four Points was the stunning views of the Chengdu skyline. From my room, I could see the city below, particularly breathtaking during sunsets where the vibrant hues illuminated the landscape. Many evenings were spent simply gazing out at the view, appreciating the beauty of Chengdu as day turned into night.

Final Thoughts

Four Points by Sheraton Chengdu has firmly established itself as my top recommendation for luxury accommodations in the city. The expansive room, all at a steal of only about SGD $140 per night, far exceeds some of the other premium and luxury hotels I've stayed in!

With its prime location, exceptional service and stylish rooms, it offers an unrivalled experience that leaves a lasting impression.
